Yesterday afternoon, I dropped off my entry to the Lethbridge Gallery for this year's Lethbridge Landscape prize. I feel very fortunate to be included in this group of talented finalists, congratulations to them all :) Looking forward to the opening night on 11th May. Finalists can be viewed online at Lethbridge Gallery - It must be very hard for the judges to choose. In my humble opinion the standard of entries in both the gallery finalist list and the "Salon des Refuses" is very high. These are also available for viewing on the gallery website. The exhibition runs from 9th - 26th of May both online and at 136 Latrobe Terrace, Paddinton, QLD.

I had a very enjoyble evening at the Nundah Festival Art Show, Awards Soirée last night. Such a lovely surprise to receive the 2023 Encouragement Award for my new painting, “Afternoon at Tea Tree”. A big thank you to all the volunteers and hardworking organisers of this great annual event and to Councillor Adam Allan for sponsoring the encouragement prize. The show was very well run with plenty of excellent local talent on display. I am already looking forward to entering next year😊☀️🎨🎪
I really enjoyed taking part in the Brisbane Rotary Art Show this year. It is the first time I have entered this show and felt very fortunate to have two paintings accepted into the physical exhibition and one for the virtual show. I was impressed with the high quality of the entries and the curation and professionalism of the display. Congratulations to the very talented and deserving winners of the art awards. I am already looking forward to entering next year :)
Had a very enjoyable evening at the Lethbridge 20000 Small Scale Art Awards Night on Saturday 24th June. It was a very attractive and eclectic exhibition showcasing a large range of talented artists from all over Australia and included some international entrants. I felt very privileged to be numbered among these finalists. Congratulations to all the deserving winners. Already looking forward to next year's competition :)
Really encouraging to once again be a Gallery Finalist in the 2023 Lethbridge Small Scale Art Award for my new artwork, "Towards North Shore". My painting, "Ocean Fruit" has also been accepted into the online Salon des Refuses exhibition for this competition. I feel very privileged to be included in such a talented group of artists. I am looking forward to the opening night on 24th June. The full list of finalists goes live online on the 9th June and the gallery exhibition will run from 17 June to 27th June at The Lethbridge Gallery at 136 Latrobe Terrace Paddington, QLD. This exhibition will be well worth a visit if you have the opportunity.
As one of the finalists, I had the opportunity to visit the opening of the Lethbridge Landscape prize 2023, at the Lethbridge gallery, Paddington, Brisbane, last night. A big congratulations to all the worthy winners. Landscape is one of my favourite art categories and it was great to see so much exceptional and varied talent on show. The exhibition is on until 23rd May. Well worth a look if you get the chance 😊
Earlier this week I was excited to find out that I am a finalist in this year's Lethbridge Landscape Prize for my painting "Pandanus View". I am looking forward to the Opening night on Saturday, 6th May. The exhibition will run from 6th - 23rd May at The Lethbridge Gallery, 136 Latrobe Terrace, Paddington, QLD.
I am currently working on a series of ocean/pandanus paintings inspired by another visit to the beautiful Noosa National Park on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. I have included a few details from these works here. Looking forward to finishing them and sharing them soon:)
RASart - Exhibition of Excellence is an annual exhibition open to members of the Redcliffe Art Society. It is held in the very modern and stylish Redcliffe Art Gallery at Irene Street, Redcliffe. 50 works in total are preselected from all the entries to represent the work of the society. This year I was lucky enough to have one of my paintings, Sunset at Imbil, accepted into this prestigious exhibition. Despite lockdowns and delays, I was finally able to get to the gallery yesterday, to see the show for myself. It was a real treat to see my little painting hung in this beautiful space alongside the work of so many talented artists. The exhibition will run until Saturday 24th July 2021. Plenty of street parking is available and entry to the gallery is free. Gallery hours are 10.00am - 4.00pm, Tuesday - Saturday.
Today was the first day of our new “Colour “ exhibition at The Old Fire Station Gallery at Redcliffe. I feel very privileged to be collaborating again with two very talented artists, Lin Stanton and Cecily Slade. This exhibition was postponed from earlier this year due to COVID19 and then rescheduled for September next year. It has now been moved to this month and will run from 11th November to 6th December 2020. Unfortunately, due to COVID19 restrictions there will not be an official opening event, but the Gallery is open Wednesday to Sunday from 10.00am - 3.00pm, at 395 Oxley Avenue, Redcliffe. You will be able to see a selection of my original seascapes and a number of my quality reproductions. Cecily Slade is presenting a new collection of beautiful large floral works in both original pieces and smaller reproductions. Lin Stanton is an intuitive abstractionist. She is exhibiting her new collection of exquisite small works that provide a multi-layered feast of intelligent complexity and clever use of colour. As a group, each of us are very different in our styles and approach to mark making. However, we are unified in our enjoyment of and preference for using rich and vivid colours. All works are for sale at prices to suit every budget. Everyone is welcome. I hope you can make it in to have a look. You are in for a treat.
